Day Of The Dead Sugar Skulls

October 20th, 2012

I’m learning new things all the time, and as a result, I become obsessed with new things.  Like Sugar Skulls, which are the skulls decorated(and usually made of candy!) for the Day of the Dead celebration in Mexico.  I always loved the vibrant colors and for some reason, I really wanted to design some.  So here is one, completed in illustrator.  I will likely do some freehand. But first I wanted to get my feet wet and just color one.  Thanks to some really nice artwork by Thaneeya McCardle, where she has a number of other great pieces you can color in as well as terrific art on everything from sneakers to cell phones!  Go to Thaneeya.com

Updated Computer Graphics Gallery

October 17th, 2012

Finally updated the gallery with the posters that I did for the Montgomery Village Concert Series for this past Summer 2012. Sample here, but most of the work is in Computer Arts.

More Computer-Illustrator Work

October 17th, 2012

I have been trying to find new things to do in Adobe Illustrator, because the only way I learn is by doing.  I always liked the “HOPE” poster for Obama (originally done by Shepard Fairey) and I decided to create one (or 5) of my own for the band Europe.  I got permission to use official photos from the original photographer Patric Ullaeus, which I guess Shepard didn’t do so he got in trouble….that gets expensive.  If you only remember Europe for “The Final Countdown”, know this, the band regrouped 2000 and put out new music that is MUCH BETTER than the 80′s.  They went back to their 70s era roots and a more bluesy feel.  Check the band out, c’mon, really, I think you will be pleasantly surprised! Opportunities For My Art

February 17th, 2012

It looks like I might get my foot in the door for a local summer event to do the artwork!  I’m very excited about this.  My artwork (if accepted) will be used for posters, postcards, print ads, web ads, and more!  I really would love to do this full time, but I just haven’t found a way to do it.  So part time it is and I’ll accept it graciously.  As I work on the artwork, I will post some of my submissions.  You can see the ones I have done in the past in my Computer Arts gallery. Well, I have work to do!

Added Gallery of Artwork

January 25th, 2012

Setting up a new website it a bit like moving into a new home…I really want to have everything in it’s place before I have the guests arrive.  I guess it’s just going to come along as it does, so please excuse the unpacked boxes and such laying about.  Please check out my artwork, you can find them under gallery section.  There is definitely more to come and certainly more to create!

January 22nd, 2012

Ok, first blog post…49ers lost to Giants…it’s way past my bedtime but I am entranced with putting my site together.  It’s pouring and rather blustery outside.  This is obviously not for any one’s amusement except my own.  That’ll change I’m sure.  Ooooooohhh, major downpour of rain right now!  Eeeeek!
